Let's all be "Watchdogs."

I was reading the latest on the investigation of the Somer Thompson kidnapping and murder.  Another tragic event that strikes fear into all of us who love children.

One of the paragraphs was really shocking.  It read "The day after Somer's body was identified, authorities said they had ruled out all 161 registered sex offenders who lived within a 5-mile radius of Somer's home."  Not sure how they ruled them out but my point is we need to know who our neighbors are and Family Watchdog is a good resource for that.  You can subscribe to email notification that lets you know when registered sex offenders move into your area.

Healthy Stuff

Have you ever been out and about and ready to make a purchase but didn't know if the item was safe so you called your mother who knows everything about that kind of stuff and since you asked about that and not about run on sentences, she told you that "you can access the HealthyStuff database by SMS using your mobile phone!

Simply text the HealthyStuff keyword, followed by your search text to 30644. Queries can contain product names, model years, manufacturers. You may also filter your results by overall level of detection and/or score (HIGH,MED,LOW)." Or you can use the handy, dandy widget below before you go.

Hungry For Change?

Official Food, Inc. Movie Site - Hungry For Change?

I haven't seen the movie yet because it won't be released until November 3rd but it's at the top of my Netflix list. I'm sure it'll inspire me to be even more "hungry for change."

The ingredients basically consist of citric acid, sea salt, and water so it seems like it would be pretty easy to make it yourself. Check out the video to see how well it works.
